All small initiatives help: bringing green power in the house
29 March 2009
Most discussions on renewable energy are more or less focussed on large scale production possibilities. But let’s be honest: some of the smaller household and hobby projects have more appeal than large industrial projects. See this video of a proud Englishman who has installed a mere 80W solar panel. The nice thing is: he talks [...]

Mercedes-Benz Trainees build Fuel Cell ‘car of the future’
27 March 2009
Trainees of Daimler AG at the Sindelfingen Mercedes-Benz plant have built a Roadster with fuel cell drive. It’s a bit of a funny concept, looking more like an Asian Tuk Tuk than a traditional car. The F-CELL Roadster is controlled with drive-by-wire technology, and a joystick takes the place of a conventional steering wheel. The [...]

Fuel Cell technology carefully introduced on maritime markets
25 March 2009
Fuel Cells using Hydrogen to produce electricity, which in turn is used to power electrical vehicles, are slowly coming to the market. On the roads, some 40 buses and around about 200 cars use this new, zero emission technology. Wide spread market penetration is not expected before 2020 or even 2030.
And fuel cells on board [...]

Solar energy for mobile applications
25 March 2009
More and more manufacturers produce devices which makes us independent of wires and of the grid. A Chinese company has introduced a mobile solar panel system, which is delivered with quite a number of adaptors because standardization is still not a strong point of the electronics industry. The system can be used for every kind [...]
